The globally active motion technology company Schaeffler will showcase its complete portfolio of repair and service solutions for combustion engines, hybrids, and electric vehicles at the Automechanika Frankfurt, the world’s leading trade fair, from September 10 to 14, 2024. This year, the exhibition under the motto “Sustaining Motion. Pioneering Future.” features something truly special: for the first time, Schaeffler is presenting its Automotive Aftermarket division under the new name Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions. The new name reflects the division’s evolution and aligns with Schaeffler’s commitment to sustainable innovation, technological advancement, and tailored customer solutions.
The Challenge
For its appearance at Automechanika in Frankfurt, Schaeffler sought an alternative to plastic name badges. The solution needed to be reusable and highlight the innovative character of the company.

The Solution
Schaeffler rented 350 Smart Labels and two handheld devices from CCL Faubel for the four-day event. The 2.7-inch Smart Labels served as name badges for the exhibition team. Prior to the event, Schaeffler collaborated with Sven Rath, Business Development Manager at CCL Faubel, to create a display template. The template featured text fields (company, name, job title) and a QR code linking to a contact database managed by the event service provider. This database stored all relevant contact details for each employee.
Out of the total 350 Smart Labels, CCL Faubel pre-loaded 300 with complete personal data provided by Schaeffler. This service minimized the workload for the exhibition team during Automechanika. The team could also update or program all 350 Smart Labels in just a few seconds using software and the handheld devices.
