As the name suggests, this smart label is perfectly tailored to the needs of the logistics industry. It is especially suitable for reusable containers in Kanban and closed-loop processes, where paperless labeling is ideal. In this case, an RFID tag controls an E-Paper display that shows the variable data stored on the RFID tag. The logistics label operates without a battery, making it durable and maintenance-free.
Logistics Label
Battery-Free Smart Label for Logistic Processes
What is included in a Smart Label project?
- Process and needs analysis
- Consultation and support for technical integration
- Delivery of smart labels and update devices
- Provision of the necessary licenses
- Training on the handling of smart labels
Easy Integration
Since no hardware-based IT infrastructure needs to be installed in the buildings (e.g., access points or gateways), the integration is quick and straightforward. In advance, only the data source needs to be defined, so that the connection to existing systems can be implemented. The time required for the go-live of the integration is very low thanks to our services, such as the Smart Printer.
To keep the smart labels maintenance-free, no battery was used in the development. Instead, CCL Faubel relies on so-called energy harvesting. In this process, the energy from the NFC interface of an update device is stored on the smart label until enough energy is available for an update. At the same time, the data is transferred to the smart label in this way. There is no risk of conflicts with the existing wireless infrastructure.
